Q. What if I have never hired a boat before?
A. Previous experience is not required. Our boat is easy to handle and a full demonstration, including practice in opening and closing locks, if required, will be provided at the start of your holiday.
Q. Will the children be safe?
A. Yes - providing that all provided buoyancy aids are worn and they are fully supervised at all times.
Q. Where can I moor?
A. Moorings can be made at most places along the towpath side of the canal, providing you are not obstructing any other person and that you are moored in the appropriately sign posted areas.
Q. Can fishing be undertaken?
A. Yes - it can providing that you hold a full Rod Licence for at least the period of your holiday and whilst the boat is moored. You can fish from the narrowboat itself or from the towpath, providing that this is not in a private fishing area. With regard to fishing baits, live-bait is NOT ALLOWED on the boat at any time.
Q. Is smoking allowed on the boat?
A. No
Q. May I bring our dog/cat?
A. Yes - by prior arrangement. If you bring your pets on holiday with you, they are NOT to be allowed on the furniture. Therefore, you must bring your own basket or bedding for them with you.

A. Yes - but please advise us beforehand
Q.May I view "Privateer" before I make my booking?
A. Yes - you can either arrange to have short viewing or
make a day of it and have one of our Taster Days.

Q.Is the boat fully fuelled?
A. A full tank of fuel is supplied at the start of your holiday. Additional fuel can be purchased from boatyards and marinas on route, but this is not normally necessary.
Q. Will the boat have a full water tank?
A. Yes, however additional water will be required during your holiday and this is obtainable from all boat yards/marinas and at any designated spots which contain a British Waterways water point.
Q.What parking facilities are at the home berth?
A. A secure car park is provided and a maximum of two vehicles is allowed.
Q. What facilities are at the home berth?
A. There are toilets, a shower block and a laundry room.
Q. What do I do if something goes wrong?
A. We are only a phone call away and we will be with you as soon as possible.
